this would be a very cool game, but glitched spirit already said everything i was thinking. level 1 is too hard, and takes longer to try again than it does to actually play. I don't need to see the ooh ah every time, the prison break sequence is neat but unnecessary. It took me multiple tries to realize that right click sends the hand back, it isnt tutorialed at all despite being necessary to beat the first level. the mechanic is so neat tho and the game is super polished! i could see the idea being returned to, it'd make a great game

Heytibo responds:

Thanks : )

The controls are on the main screen, but it's easy to miss :/.

Also, yes, it's a jam game, it's a bit rough, Rubblar is definitely one of those projects I'd like to come back to and do a full version on :)

it was very hard but it got easier once i started gambling. also I ran into a cool bug that made me immortal for the rest of the game, i probably wouldn't have beaten it without it. other than that one bug tho this game is extremely polished and juicy

Just-a-ng-dummy responds:

Oh fuck that's a game dev's worst nightmare! Hopefully I can find it and fix it soonish. Other than that I am trying to make the game more easier at the start so players can ease into the hardness, or just adding a difficulty setting. Anyways thx a lot for playing!

slideshow collabs are often pretty low effort but this ones really takes the cake, no music, no UI, doesn't even display the names of who made each drawing... THE ARTISTS DESERVE BETTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: i hid score cause i didnt wanna be MEAN to the artists !!

Creeperforce24 responds:

Bro… it’s just a collab, no need to go crazy, and of course your too nervous to show the score you gave

GGishere responds:

alex is an asshole and the collab was kinda low effort, but was the blam really necessary?

CRAPPYMUSlC responds:

bando comic wizard is the ms paint of NG ig

Chdonga responds:

I'm gonna go against the grain and just say I agree lmao. Some music would've been nice, at least. I think the blam is a little overly dramatic but hey, we got frontpaged and a daily top 5 and that's something that can't be taken away by negative reviews.

SkilledFella responds:

It's true, and I fully agree with you. I felt like it's overrated if a collab doesn't have music and what much.

TheGarbager619 responds:

I agree, the presentation could have been better, but as it is, I think it is nice.

Nebulate responds:

Finaly someone who agrees.

BoiledMilkz responds:

that is something i agree with, the names could've been presented and music should've been added in. maybe use another game engine to display art? like flash or gdevelop?

riot100233 responds:

dude chill have a sprite cranberry

AlexToolStudio responds:

Yeah your right

It my first collab

I will do better next time

BottleTopBillFanclub responds:

Hi @kaiakairos,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I have made it a priority to be better organized in the future when helping with collabs.

medals broken but good game !!!!!

Zenneth22 responds:

thank you!, in other moment im gonna to repair the medals and scoreboards.

i dont say this to be mean but the platforming feels very slow, and with how easy the levels were a majority of the game felt like a slog. Most obvious example was the bridge chase, the tense music was good but it never felt very tense. i just held right and completely outran the falling bridge, to the point it was off screen. I was never in any danger.
The worm fight was a nice change of pace, but a good portion of the difficulty just came from how slow the character is. Also, if you lose to the worm boss, you have to replay that little platforming section beforehand, which requires you to wait for moving platforms and is really annoying. After a few times I just quit. I also agree with other people that the visibility can sometimes be bad with the player being a similar color to the grass and also being rendered behind it rather than in front.
It needs some work imo but I do think its got potential

nulledwine responds:

Thanks for the critical feedback, I ended up modifying the speed a bit and it did end up feeling a bit smoother. We want the game to more relaxed and open to anyone so we purposely settled for an easier difficulty and laid back approach especially since these initial levels are meant to ease you into the game; if you want tougher platforming challenges or more of a focus on that aspect then I don't think this game would be for you.
Thank you for playing and the feedback!

Should prolly inform you that the screen size is messed up and makes all of menus difficult or straight up impossible to read

MookGames responds:

Shoot. Might be a problem with the imbed sizing?
Edit: fixed it

i remember seein this a WHILE back when i was toying around with gbstudio, mad respect for stickin with this for as long as you have!

maxoakland responds:

Thanks! I'm getting it finished soon!

I'd recommend making walter white able to move in multiple directions at once.

Edit: yes, its also better to not have controls override others, for example pressing left while holding up does nothing

SkilledFella responds:

like 8 directions, right?

Next time I make a maze, I'll make sure to have a character moving in 8 directions.

as much of a shitpost as this is, not being able to see after your first slice and having to remember where the other grenades is a pretty interesting mechanic. The afterimages provide an additional level of challenge too. I imagine this could pretty fantastic with some nice visuals and a less physically painful theme lol

FarawayDrip30 responds:

Thank you, I really appreciate it! And apologies about the physical pain…

pretty cool little game! i like that there's aim assist, makes it a lot easier to play on keyboard.
A lot of the time i found it pretty difficult to make out what was goin on because the background was too flashy. If you ever were to do more with this I would make the background a more muted color so that the bullets and enemies pop out a little more.

bandaloo responds:

thanks! i love bright colors so i’m trying to find where that line is :P

might patch it to reduce the brightness and saturation of the randomly chosen colors, or at the very least offer it as a setting. thanks again for the input!

ough
